Church Membership

At First Boynton Church, we place a very high value on membership.  The scriptures tell us about the nature of our relationship as members of the local church.

For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ. For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body…(1 Corinthians 12:12-13a)

While all are welcome at our gatherings, fellowships and times of teaching, there are responsibilities and privileges that come with formal membership.

Our membership process includes:

  1. Attending a Starting Point class, meal and teaching time,
  2. Completing an application and interview with an Elder/Pastor, and
  3. Affirming our church statement of faith and covenant.
  4. Welcome by our Congregation at a Member’s Meeting.
Our next Starting Point Class is Sunday, July 28th. (Sign up here!) The first session is from 9a.m. – 10a.m. Then we gather for regular worship 10:30 – noon. Finally we enjoy a great meal together and a final session of teaching. Done by 2:30pm. Childcare is available.
